Michael Murphy

Managing Partner and Founder

Michael Murphy is Founder and CEO of Rosecliff Ventures. Mr. Murphy’s career as a financial services entrepreneur began over 20 years ago. Throughout his time in the financial services industry, he has developed insight into fundamental investing, private equity, long/short strategies and macro global economic trends. His past successes include; operating a long/short Hedge Fund, successfully growing a wealth management business, running a broker dealer, and working on various investment banking deals. Mr. Murphys experiences led him to launch the Investment firm, Rosecliff Capital, and most recently the Venture Capital Fund, Rosecliff Ventures.

Mr. Murphy has been a successful angel investor for the past 7 years. He has played an active role in the success of many startups. It was his experience as an angel investor that lead to the launch of Rosecliff Ventures. Mr. Murphy was a CNBC contributor and has regularly appeared on the networks FastMoney segment, commenting on global macroeconomic trends, equities in the news and the latest market news. Currently, Mr. Murphy appears on FoxBusiness.

A native of New York, Mr. Murphy graduated from Hofstra University. He currently lives in NYC with his wife and six children.

Michael Caso

Managing Partner and Founder

Michael Caso is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Rosecliff. He was honored with being awarded 2018 Forbes 30 Under 30 in Venture Capital. Michael oversees the entire investment team, which is, responsible for sourcing, reviewing, researching and structuring new
investment opportunities for the firm. Michael also manages the fundraising and capital raising efforts of the firm. Prior to launching Rosecliff, Michael worked for Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Michael also worked as an investment banking associate for Rosecliff Capital, where he focused on technology, consumer and software deals.

Aside from work, Michael is an avid face in the health and fitness industry. He dedicates a lot of his free time trying to inspire people to live a healthier life through diet, exercise, and cardio vascular activities. Michael is active in the startup community. Michael graduated from Fordham University with a degree in Economics. While attending Fordham, he received multiple academic honors. Michael was honored with a four year academic scholarship.

Michael currently resides in NYC’s Battery Park City.

Stewart Eichner is an experienced investment management attorney with an extensive background in building businesses for alternative investment managers focused on global hedge funds and private equity platforms. Prior to joining Rosecliff, as CCO & General Counsel, Stewart was the CCO of a boutique investment manager based in Manhattan. Earlier in his impressive career, Stewart held senior roles at top public financial institutions such as BlackRock and Morgan Stanley.

Vincent Samperi, CPA, serves as Rosecliff’s Chief Financial Officer. Vincent has extensive experience in Asset Management and Public Accounting focusing on Hedge Funds and Private Equity. Prior to joining Rosecliff, Vincent held a senior role at JANA Partners, LLC. Earlier in his career Vincent held roles at UBS, Credit Suisse and EisnerAmper.

Connor Frazier

Connor Frazier

Principal

Connor Frazier is responsible for sourcing investment opportunities, conducting research, and supporting Rosecliff’s portfolio companies. Connor specializes in both retail and consumer based investments. Prior to joining the Rosecliff team, Connor has experience in both the retail and investment banking industries. He worked as a financial analyst at a middle market investment banking firm based in New York City. He was responsible for conducting due diligence and analyzing incoming deal flow. He also assisted the firm in various capital raising efforts.

Outside of work, Connor is an active stock investor. He was head of internal research at Pace University’s Investment Club. He has been involved in multiple equity trading competitions throughout New York City.

Krish Mehta is a senior associate at Rosecliff Ventures. Krish joined Rosecliff after graduating from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business where he studied Finance and Data Science.  Krish was born and raised in Mumbai, India. Prior to joining Rosecliff, Krish worked at a New-York based technology Consulting firm. He also worked at the Bombay Stock Exchange in their Cyber Security Department.

Steven Venino, CFA

Senior Associate

Steven Venino is a Senior Associate at Rosecliff Ventures interested in the FinTech and AgTech verticals. Prior to joining Rosecliff, Steven helped manage a long/short portfolio focused on the Agribusiness industry within Point72’s Discretionary Investing division. Prior to Point72, Steven spent four years at Morgan Stanley in their Manhattan headquarters. During his time at Morgan Stanley, Steven advised institutional clients on transactions in the equities and derivatives markets. Steven was also responsible for structuring bespoke investment products that provided clients exposure to alternative investment opportunities.

Steven graduated with honors from Boston College where he earned degrees in Economics and Psychology, and is a CFA charterholder.

David Shin

David Shin

Associate
David is an Associate at Rosecliff Ventures interested in consumer companies improving the ways we move, shop, educate, and care for ourselves. Most recently, David served as the CEO & Co-Founder of Ephemeral, a consumer cosmetics company in NYC leading the company through multiple financings, product development, and pre-clinical/clinical studies. He also served as a Fellow in the Startup Leadership Program NY Chapter, a mentor to early stage companies at the NYU Stern School of Business and NYU Entrepreneurial Institute, and is a proud alum of the Techstars NYC community. Prior to the startup & venture world, David was a scientific researcher, developing personalized cancer therapeutics for Medullary Thyroid and Colorectal Cancer patients at the Icahn School of Medicine and studying protein chemistry at NYU Tandon School of Engineering. He holds a B.S. in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering from New York University.

Jacqueline Berardo

Analyst

Jacqueline Berardo is an analyst at Rosecliff Ventures charged with sourcing investment opportunities, supporting existing portfolio companies, and analyzing investments. Prior to joining Rosecliff, Jacqueline was an analyst in the equity capital markets division at Morgan Stanley (NYC) and the equity research division at Macquarie Group’s investment management global headquarters. Jacqueline graduated from Princeton University with a B.A. in the Woodrow Wilson School of International and Public Affairs, a specialization in Trade and Finance, and a certificate in Entrepreneurship. Among other distinctions, she is a recipient of Princeton’s R.W. Van De Velde Award for Outstanding Independent Research, a 3-time Division 1 Academic All-American in Track and Field, and a 2015 Delegate of the Nobel Peace Laureate Summit (Barcelona). In her time at Princeton she was awarded an IDEO Design Thinking Fellowship, through which she advised startups within the Keller Center for Engineering Education’s Incubator program, and served as a user experience analyst during the conception of StudioYu.org.

Outside of work and academics, Jacqueline intends to continue competing in the 800-meter race and will continue to pursue her passion for service and fitness as a coach for Girls on the Run, a non-profit that promotes female empowerment.

Tessa Battistin

Tessa Battistin

Director of Platform

Tessa Battistin is the Director of Platform at Rosecliff Ventures. At Rosecliff, Tessa manages founder relationships, corporate partnerships, and communications for the firm. Previously, Tessa was Platform Manager at Entrepreneurs Roundtable Accelerator (ERA), a seed-stage startup accelerator and investment firm in NYC. She has worked in community and event management for 37 Angels Investment Network, and VentureOut NY. During her student days, she helped organize three annual TEDxMontrealWomen conferences, and is passionate about bringing visibility to female founders.

Tessa is originally from Montreal, but grew up in Huntington, Long Island. Tessa founded a fashion e-commerce brand for ethically sourced garments while still in university, and ran the business after finishing her degree. Tessa earned a B.A. in English Literature from McGill University in Canada, where she graduated with distinction. She competed in the Dobson Cup for Entrepreneurship, run by the McGill University Desautels Business School, and earned a spot at the Notman House incubator in Montreal. Her experience in the Canadian and American startup ecosystems exhibits her passion for cross-border collaboration and international travel. Tessa has traveled extensively throughout Western and Eastern Europe, always making sure to visit as many art museums as she can along the way.

Danielle Burkhardt

Danielle Burkhardt

Operations

Danielle is originally from Michigan, where she studied child development and psychology at Central Michigan University. After earning her degree, Danielle interned as a child life specialist at Mott Children’s Hospital. She went on to become a teacher at The Learning Experience School.

Danielle moved to New York in June 2018 for an adventure and joined the Rosecliff team in June 2019.

Meghann Zimmerer

Meghann Zimmerer

Executive Assistant

Meghann Zimmerer serves as the Executive Assistant at Rosecliff Ventures, where she provides direct support to both of Rosecliff’s Managing Partners, and assists with firm operations.

During the beginning years of her post-graduate career, Meghann lead teams across multiple verticals, including production, event coordination, operations, and logistics. Prior to Rosecliff, Meghann was the Executive Assistant to the CEO of Company, an accelerator community for NYC’s leading tech startups (formerly known as Grand Central Tech). While at Company, she contributed to the overall development and growth of NYC’s largest tech-ecosystem. Meghann supported multiple executives and managed the the day-to-day affairs of the Company team.

In her spare time, Meghann enjoys being outdoors, reading, and craft beer festivals. Giving back is very important to Meghann as well; some of her favorite causes to be involved with are Tunnel to Towers, Wounded Warriors Project, and The Good Dog Foundation.
